Design social media post notifying users that there was limited time left to secure regular Insight Tech Conference pricing. This piece emphasized urgency, encouraging users to act quickly and secure $250 off before prices increased.

Overview

The project addressed the challenge of designing a graphic that balanced urgency with professionalism, aligning with Trimble’s event branding while standing out on social media. The goal was to catch attention, highlight the pricing change, and drive registrations.

Solution

I developed a bold, attention-grabbing social media graphic that clearly highlighted the pricing difference and deadline. I also Incorporated brand colors, simplified iconography, and a strong call-to-action while streamlining font styles and layouts for clarity.

Exploration of 4 initial draft concepts, testing carousel vs. single-post formats, varied iconography, and typography treatments to find the best way to convey urgency

  • I began by sketching four initial concepts that explored arrows, megaphones, graphs, and people icons to visually convey urgency.

  • I considered both direct visual metaphors (arrows rising, countdowns) and brand-consistent iconography (using event icons from the Insight graphics library).

  • While making drafts, I kept the goal in mind to emphasize “time running out” while keeping pricing as the focal point.

  • In total, I came up with 4 social media concepts (2 carousel posts and 2 single posts). My manager selected the 2 designs on the top for further development

  • Inconsistent typography

    Too many font variations, which reduced consistency and polish.

  • Off-brand graphics

    Arrow and bar graph felt chunky and mismatched against Trimble’s flat branding.

  • Lack of visual hierarchy

    Floating elements (dollar sign & ticket icon) lacked grounding and structure.

  • Unnecessary headline

    The word “Attention” felt redundant and cluttered the design.

Streamlined & clear

Shifted from a multi-slide carousel to a single, bold post with consistent typography and structured alignment for maximum clarity.

On brand & polished

Applied Trimble’s brand guidelines more strictly by consistent colors and limited fonts. Streamlined the design into a single, bold post and replaced the chunky arrow/graph with a clean, pricing-focused layout.

Urgent & Action-Oriented

Emphasized “LAST CHANCE” with bold typography, color-coded pricing (green = savings, orange = increase), and a clear deadline to drive immediate action.

Discovered

Urgency-driven campaigns work best when the design is simplified. I discovered that too many competing visuals can reduce clarity.

Learned

Font consistency, flat branding, and clear pricing hierarchy created a stronger visual impact than overly complex graphics.

Takeaway

Iterative design and feedback collaboration can transform an early draft into a bold, brand-aligned post that captures urgency and drives action.
